SnapKB
Effective date: August 25, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the SnapKB mobile application (“App”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What SnapKB is
SnapKB is a utility that helps you compress and convert photos on your device. Typical features include:
- Selecting photos via the system picker
- Compressing or converting to JPEG with quality / target-size options
- Viewing results and previewing outputs
- Saving to your gallery and sharing through the system share sheet
- Keeping a local recent-compression history
- Optional free-tier ads and Premium upgrades
Photo processing for compression is performed locally on your device.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract under the laws of your country. If you use the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. License to use the App
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your personal or internal use, in accordance with these Terms and applicable store rules (Apple App Store / Google Play).
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse engineer the App except where mandatory law allows.
- Bypass free-tier limits, ads, Premium checks, or other technical restrictions.
- Use the App for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
- Infringe others’ intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights when selecting, compressing, saving, or sharing photos.
4. Your content and responsibilities
You retain rights to the photos you select. You are solely responsible for:
- Having the rights needed to process, save, and share those photos.
- Backing up important originals before compressing or converting.
- How you use compressed outputs (including any sharing outside the App).
SnapKB does not claim ownership of your photos.
5. On-device processing and no hosting service
Unless we clearly state otherwise in a future feature:
- Compression / conversion runs on your device.
- We do not provide a SnapKB cloud album or photo-hosting service for your library.
- Temporary outputs and history may be stored in app-private storage on your device until you clear them or uninstall.
6. Free tier, ads, and Premium
6.1 Free tier
The free tier may include limits (for example maximum photos per batch) and may show ads (including rewarded or interstitial ads) when enabled by configuration.
6.2 Premium
Premium may unlock benefits such as no ads, higher or unlimited batch limits, and additional compression options when available. Features may change over time.
6.3 Purchases and restores
In-app purchases and subscriptions (if offered) are billed by Apple or Google under their terms. Taxes, refunds, cancellations, and billing disputes are handled under the applicable store’s policies.
Restore purchases re-checks entitlements associated with your store account. Availability depends on the store and your purchase history.
6.4 Local unlock / testing builds
Some builds may include temporary local unlock for quality assurance. That does not guarantee a paid entitlement across devices or store accounts.
7. Third-party services
The App may use third-party services, including:
- Apple / Google platforms for distribution and billing
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config)
- Google AdMob for advertising on the free tier
- System photo picker, gallery saver, and share sheet
Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
8. Feedback
If you send feedback or ideas, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them to operate and improve SnapKB, without obligation to you.
9. Intellectual property
The App, including its name, design, branding, and software (excluding your photos and third-party components), is owned by SnapKB or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Open-source components are governed by their respective licenses (see Open source licenses in Settings).
10. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that:
- Compression will always reach a specific target size or visual quality for every photo.
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device / OS version.
- Outputs will be suitable for any particular professional, legal, or archival purpose.
You are responsible for verifying results before deleting originals or relying on compressed files.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNAPKB AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PREMIUM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify SnapKB and its operators from claims arising out of your misuse of the App, your photos, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
13. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or stop providing the App or particular features (including free-tier or Premium configuration) where reasonably necessary for legal, security, or operational reasons. Sections that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations) will survive termination.
14. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update the App and these Terms. Material changes to Terms will be reflected by updating the effective date and the in-app document. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance, except where local law requires additional consent.
15. Governing law
Unless mandatory consumer law in your country provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of SnapKB, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Consumers may also have non-waivable rights in their country of residence.
16. Store-required notices
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you acknowledge that:
- The store provider is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for the App, except as required by its standard terms.
- In the event of a failure to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify the store for a refund of the purchase price (if any), and to the maximum extent permitted by law the store has no other warranty obligation.
- The store provider is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you regarding your use of the App.
